Ever since my ulcer attack, I've been cutting down on drinking coffee coz some people actually told me that coffee is heaty. So I've been drinking lots of soya bean drinks, barley and also tea. Personally I don't mind all the barley and the tea especially in this hot weather. My concern is for the soya bean drink. That drink aside from having a cooling effect and great for the complexion, it is also high in protein and since I don't need that much protein in me, I'm worried that I may have to resort to taking wieght loss pills or something. Yikes!! That would be terrible... Arghhh when is this darn ulcer gonna be gone???

As any other woman, I also like to ask the age-old question to my man. "Baby, am I fat?" and most often than not, my baby's answer would be "YES!".. which most likely have us laughing hysterically after I pinched him black and blue!
All that laughing aside though, I have found that as I get older, I am getting heavier. I guess it's that metabolic rate that is slowing down or just my sedentary lifestyle. I am one of the most laziest person you can find but since I am lucky enough to not have that "fat" gene in me, I tend to accumulate the weight rather slower than most people. I am also fortunate enough that I look slim in my clothing which most times irked people when I say I need to lose weight. Believe me... I need to lose weight just like you out there!
Some ladies I know resort to Diet Pills as a fast and easy way to lose weight. Though some may work, there are also some that comes with adverse side effects that can destroy the natural functions of your organ. That is why you need to know what you are putting into your body no matter how well it works for other people.
Diet pills like Acomplia and Reductil that are prescribed by doctors are much better I feel, as compared to off-the-shelves diet pills. At the very least, your progress is being monitored by a professional and there is always peace of mind there and if there are any side effects, you can always report back to your doctor and he or she would know how to proceed from there.
Whatever it is, your health is so much more important that how you look on the outside. So don't be desperate, be smart :)

There are so many diet pills out there that sometimes I just get overwhelmed. How do I choose which is the best one for me? How do I know which ones would work and not cause me to gain more weight the moment I stop using them? So many questions and sometimes hardly any answers. A friend recently introduced me to hoodia weight loss pills, while another one swears by another product.
Sigh... I guess I will see what these pills can do for my friends first before I start taking them. After all I am doing ok in the weight watching arena so far ;)

I am happy to report that even with all the late nights binges of cheesecakes, chocolates and ice-cream and then Nasi Lemak for breakfast, my weight has officially remained at what it always was (yeah I went on that dreaded weighing machine this morning)! Though I am like 3kgs off the ideal weight for my height, I don't think I'll be needing that Phentermine 37.5 mg diet pill for now! Phew! What a relief!

This morning, I decided to weigh myself and I could have sworn my weight had increased by one kilo. I think it's definitely because of all the cheese cakes that I was eating last week. Oh boy... that is not good news because I am still craving for more even now..lolz... I guess I got to get on one of those treadmills tomorrow onwards to burn the extra kilo off to make space for more cheesecake...lolz

Basically what I am getting at is I usually have lots of time to mingle with the other patient. One patient that I was talking too yesterday really had a scary story to tell. In 2004 she was diagnosed with ovarian cyst which I know is a common thing with ladies - I had one too but it went out with my monthly cycle once. Anyway hers obviously did not although according to her pain went away after her next cycle. However, recently the pain came back and after visiting another gynae she was told that the cyst had grown to seven centimeters. This is reason to be alarm coz if I recalled properly mine was only like 2 cm and that was why the doc at the time said mine was not to be worried about unless its over 5 cm. Now this lady's is like 7cm.
She made an appointment with my gynae to get a second opinion. As her appointment was way before mine, she went in first and I had a chance to speak to her again after she finished as it still was not my turn yet. The doc told her that if she was smaller in size (she is quite obese unfortunately), they could do a laparoscopy but since she is overweight, they needed to do a surgery instead and even before that they gave her two month to lose weight first before any surgery can take place.
Poor thing. I was really sorry for her and the look on the face when she was relating what the doctor told her was really heartbreaking.
So girl, if you by chance read this, take care ya, try to lose some weight so that you get that "Benda Allah", like Dr Fawziah called it, out of you and perhaps you can even take up the doctor's recommendation to see a dietitian.Take care and God bless

So hubby suggested I look into the elliptical trainer which is basically a stationary exercise machine like the treadmill that I can walk on or run on without ever leaving the house. I could even do it while watching my favourite afternoon soap opera, The Bold and The Beautiful. Now, that's a suggestion I like!!

A whole of lot diet tips are there to assist in your fast weight loss management. While some are more attracted to the idea of gluten free diet, some others prefer to have all the dairy items on their plates with an enlarged portion of fiber diet twice a day.
So, I'm on a mission. I've got these slimming tips and I'm sticking to it. Help.. I don't want to be fat!
- Eat smaller meals at regular mealtimes. Try not to skip meals - that will only make you eat more afterwards. Never ever skip breakfast.
- Avoid snacking between meals. If you must, opt for fruits and vegetables
- Cut down on fried, oily, refined and processed food
- Go on a detox programme at least two or three times a year to rid your body of toxins
- Drink at least eight glasses of plain water daily to flush toxins from your systems
- Cut down on alcohol, coffee, tea, carbonated drinks and other stimulants
- Avoid large meals after 8pm. Your body is slowing down for the night and uses less energy
- Exercise regularly to increase your metabolic rate. Carry out more physical activities. Even simple ones help, such as using the stairs instead of the lift or taking brisk walk around the neighbourhood

A complete weight training equipment kit is the pre requisite for an effective weight training plan. Some of the equipments are more popular, as is ankle strap, than others. Owing to the immense market demand, new and innovative forms of weight training equipment, chin up bar to name one, are out in the stores.
However, I do worry about that tummy though so maybe the following article might help? I wonder..
The mere mention of being fat send me into a frenzy mode. I have always been the slim one and it's quite upsetting that as age catches on, my metabolic rate gave itself an early retirement resulting in, yours truly, gaining a few pounds in all the wrong places. So now, although I still enjoy my "roti canai" and my "nasi lemak", I am ever conscious of the fat, calories and cholesterol that those along with those delicious meals.
However, food, it seems is not the only factor that can make us fat. Ladies, do you know that lack of sleep was also cited as one of the factors that makes us fat as well?
According to this article, researchers have found that people who sleep for four hours or less per night are 73 per cent more likely to be obese and those who got only five hours' sleep were 50 per cent more likely to be obese than those who were getting a full night's rest. People who slept for just six hours were also 23 per cent more likely to be substantially overweight. This seems to have something to do with hormones (aren't they all), called leptin that decreases with lack of sleep. Leptin is the key hormones responsible for reducing hunger and increasing the feeling of fullness. Now I know why I am hungry once it's pass midnight!
The research also mentioned air-conditioning as a contributing factor as well. It totally makes sense to me too. You see, the body has it's own self regulating thermometer. So when we are dependent on the air-conditioning to regulate the temperature for us, we are not fully utilizing our natural fat burning ability.
Scientists suggest that when people are out of this zone we lose weight. If it's too cold we burn fat to stay warm, and if it's too hot our appetites decrease. Studies show that people are keeping their houses warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer than they did in years past, so these natural influences on weight are negated.
Mental note to self: Get enough sleep and sweat it out!
